useless information...or is it?

Information from an SAP presentation

It is highly likely that today’s learners…
… never owned a record or record player
… always had a microwave in their kitchen
… played digital multiplayer video games their entire life
… don’t know what a Telex is
… used the Internet since they started school
… spend 20% more time on-line daily than their peers who are not in college
… had an email address before their own personal phone
… download more software then they buy in a retail store (excluding video games)
And likely that they…
… have watched MTV for more than 6 hours a week…
… and TV for more than 25hr/week, or over 20,000 hr in their lifetime
… have spent less than 5,000 hr reading…
… but over 10,000 hr playing video games
… have never seen a Bank Counter
… have a 6-8 minute attention span, 14-16 min less than their parents
Their lives revolve around
“NOW”
Do NOW
Act NOW
Buy NOW
Action NOW
Answer NOW
Get solution NOW
In others words….
Generation NOW
What does it all mean?
The world around us and the way we do business…
are changing FAST
Organizations need to adapt to Customers that…
… have higher expectations
… have more differentiated needs
… have no patience and require instant action
… expect Products & Services NOW
… are technology savvy...
… and expect organizations to be as well
… use any technology channel to interact with their ecosystem…
… while expecting the same level of service
… are less concerned about Privacy…
… they freely share personal information on social networking sites
