Perfect storm

Chris has been teaching us in a series titled the Perfect storm, A series to help us understand that though God does not cause the calamities and troubles in our life, He can use them to grow us and make us better and more and more like Christ. I was thinking about this this morning while I was getting ready for work and this song popped into my noodle so I just had to google it and here are the lyrics (I imagined God singing it to us):

When it all goes crazy and the thrill is gone
the days get rainy and the nights get long
when you get that feeling you were born to lose
staring at your ceiling
thinking of your blues
when there's so much trouble that you want to cry
the world has crumbled
and you don't know why
when your hopes are fading
and they can't be found
dreams have left you waiting
friends have let you down
just remember I love you and it'll be alright
just remember I love you
more than I can say
just remember I love you
and it'll be alright
maybe then your blues will fade away
when you need a lover
and you're down so low
you start to wonder
but you never know
when it feels like sorrow is your only friend
knowing that tomorrow
you'll feel this way again
when the blues come calling
at the break of dawn
the rain keeps falling
but the rainbow's gone
when you feel like crying
and the tears won't come
then your dreams are dying
then you're on the run
just remember I love you
more than I can say
just remember I love you
and it'll be alright

God is still in control even when we can't see anything good that can come out of whatever circumstance we are in. We must remember that God is not limited to the same constraints we are limited to. Just read about some of His attributes and you will see, and then think about just how much He loves you.

God is not limited by time, He made time
God is not limited by circumstances, He can make new ones
God is not limited by space, or lack of money, or lack of manpower, He can speak things into existence.
God isn't even limited by whether or not we are going to like the outcome of the circumstances we are in, but He does want us to trust him.
He is limited though by doubt and disbelief (James 1:8-11 msg)...

If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.
When down-and-outers get a break, cheer! And when the arrogant rich are brought down to size, cheer! Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don't ever count on it. You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers. Its petals wilt and, before you know it, that beautiful face is a barren stem. Well, that's a picture of the "prosperous life." At the very moment everyone is looking on in admiration, it fades away to nothing.
